Dear Templafy customer. These are unprecedented times we’re living in. Young. Female. CISO. What do these three have in common? Typically, not a lot. Estimates of women working in the security sector put it somewhere between 11% and 20%. Inside Templafy, the answer to the question is Ellen Benaim. She’s the woman whom we’ve all come to associate with weekly security tips, best practices for staying secure, the customer security representative who regularly reassures the most vigilant enterprises that our solution more than meets their rigorous standards. We interviewed Ellen to get her perspectives on the role of CISO, how she got there, and what it means to her. 

Happiness: defined as a state of well-being and contentment (Merriam-Webster dictionary). When asked, our colleagues here at Templafy said that they equated the state of happiness with good food with good friends, playing with their kids, warm summer mornings, being in nature and travelling.

If you’ve ever been to New York, you’ll know that it lives up to its reputation as “the city that never sleeps.” Everything is bigger – from pancake stacks to skyscrapers – and everything is buzzier. It’s no surprise then, that when it comes to holidays, New York celebrations are on another level. From “Friendsgiving” to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, Black Friday madness and the iconic Times Square Ball Drop. There’s no place like New York during the holidays.

From being named one of Denmark’s hottest scale-ups to announcing a major international award, increasing our headcount by 42% to securing innovative new funding, 2019 has been a defining year for Templafy.

Heavy users of Microsoft Word will quite often understand the value of using Word templates. Templates are smart paths to efficiency and are used to create a basis for many standard business documents, saving the user a lot of time and repetitive work.

Our New York office turned one in October, and has had an incredible first year. Since moving into Templafy’s Fifth Avenue HQ, we’ve increased our headcount to over thirty five employees, outgrown our office twice, onboarded some of the world’s biggest brands and delivered way beyond our original sales targets.

To celebrate our New York office turning one, we recently caught up with Managing Director Emil Dyrvig to get his insider’s take on Templafy’s first year stateside. In the interview, which covered everything from building a unique internal culture to his team’s plans for 2020, Emil also talked about Templafy’s “unconventional” recruitment process: a key strategy for onboarding and nurturing the extraordinary talent that’s driven growth and taken Templafy worldwide.
